Intimacy & Sexual Wellness

Sex and Intimacy After Birth

Sex After Birth v3.png

Let’s be honest,

You cringed when your healthcare provider “cleared” you for sex after having your baby.

You’ve been avoiding getting busy with your partner because of:

  • Fear of pain

  • Lack of pleasure

  • Lack of interest

  • Feeling touched-out

You don’t feel sexy and wonder if you are desirable after your body has changed so much.

Things feel different.

Thinking and talking about sex leaves you feeling sad and frustrated.

Can sex be exciting and enjoyable when you’re exhausted, covered in baby slobber (or snot, or poop, or pee, or whatever other random fluids you were sprayed with that day), and just need time to yourself?

Yes mama, you should have that time to yourself. Pleasure and your sexual health are a part of that too.

Kari Craig, PT DPT and Krysttel Stryczek, MFT CLC have teamed up with Mother Rising Women’s Studio to offer you a women’s health and wellness workshop dedicated to sex and intimacy after birth.

No shame. Just real talk about sex and intimacy after having a baby.

We will talk about the many ways having a baby changes your relationship with your partner, including:

  • the physical changes your body goes through during pregnancy and birth and how this affects sex and intimacy,

  • Pelvic floor health and what it has to do with sex and intimacy,

  • common issues that birthing parents and couples experience, and

  • ways you can improve intimacy in your relationship, your sex life, and have pleasurable experience with your partner again

We will also guide you through some practical exercises to help you feel better in your body, improve your relationship with your partner, increase your desire, and enhance your pleasure during sex.

This workshop has 5 goals:

  1. Provide a forum for you to openly discuss sexual health and healthy intimate relationships

  2. Understand the human sexual response and pelvic floor health

  3. Learn about the changes that happen during pregnancy and after having a baby that can affect your sexual experiences

  4. Learn practical strategies for having more open conversations about sex with your partner, increasing your desire, and making sex more enjoyable

  5. Learn exercises to reduce pain during sex and help with postpartum pelvic floor recovery

Your registration includes materials to take home so you can practice solo or with your partner:

  • Exercises to explore your sexual and intimacy needs

  • Tools to re-connect with your partner and spice up your sex life

  • Pelvic floor exercises for reducing pain related to birth such as perineal tearing and c-section recovery

  • Exercises to improve your pelvic floor health, reduce pain, and increase your sexual satisfaction
